Snow isn't something that happens with great regularity or intensity in my neck of the woods, but we got plenty of it the day after Christmas. So, while I had intended on taking this week off from work anyway, shoveling the driveway and snow tubing with the kids was just a bonus. In between the winter fun and some gaming this week, I'm checking in to post some content to the Wiki and say I'll probably post the final blog about dice (or simply randomness, if you prefer) next week. If you're not yet aware of The Same Universe Wiki, click the link here or the one in my Items of Interest in the right column of this blog.
The short story is that the intent of the wiki is to collect maps, world information, adjunct and house rules and whatever else to become a repository where DMs can go to see how others have solved problems or introduced some desired variation into the game. The bulk of the content so far is a single author, not me, whose idea instigated the wiki. If you're interested in being a contributor I recommend you contact Alexis directly.
What I submitted today was merely a re-worked blog post on gnomes. I had hoped to have had more up by now, and I've got plenty I want to post, but I overestimated the amount of organization my house rules, maps and write-ups already had when I signed on. Everything requires some collecting and editing and aside from my haphazard and often obsolete notes, I haven't been blogging long enough to have a substantial back log of worthwhile material already somewhat refined. The goals of the wiki are long-term, though, and I believe those contributing to it are in it for the long haul.
Happy Holidays
