After following a recent discussion on creative content vs. commentary I realized that I've been going about this whole blogging thing all wrong. Serendipity being what it is this simple but brilliant community-wide bait and switch got proposed at about the same time. Unfortunately, between these and something about raw fish I think I've fouled the whole thing up. Oh well, back to my regular RPG posting... for whatever its worth.

That is great. Really great.
ReplyDeleteFor us its great. But observe that woman's look of pure bliss. And now the fish. Judging on the basis of that glassy-eyed lack of enthusiasm, the fish just isn't that into her. Here comes a broken heart.
ReplyDeleteHahahahaha, the fish just isn't that into her. That's funny stuff.
ReplyDelete"Okay, THAT one isn't a sea-prince"
ReplyDelete(tosses fish aside & picks up next fish...
It's a big leap forward to realize that a great aspect of blog creation is also the first rule of performance: Keep It Interesting.
ReplyDeleteI keep thinking my blog needs more porn.
Bait and switch aside, James, laying out a blog is like laying out a magazine. Whatever you want to post, the little voice that says, "what will the readers read?" needs to be obeyed also.
Alexis, I do understand that and while I have striven to be both interesting and avoid the sort of self-absorbed minutia-posting that turns me off elsewhere, I haven't given much thought on how to actually build an audience aside from focusing on the blog content. Short of porn, which is always nice, maybe just a few catchier headlines.
ReplyDeleteJames C: I like reading about people's lives. Especially as I get to know a blogger more. I want to know more about them.
ReplyDeleteAside from that, a good title will pull me in every time.
Apparently raw fish seems to work as well. How did Tim make out, I wonder?
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of my real life, I've considered at times posting more about the solo game I've been running with my wife, but I think the last time I did that on my other blog it creeped her out a bit. We're not very social networky.
